Manaslu Trek Permit

Manaslu, one of the popular gaining restricted trekking destination in Nepal opened only in 1991. All the trekking activities within the Manaslu Circuit are controlled by the Government of Nepal and needs special permits to trek there.

Depending upon season, the cost of the Trek Permit differs. And you need various permits and the cost of the permits is higher in comparison to Everest and Annapurna region.

So, the cost of the trekking permits in Manaslu is discussed below.

  • Restricted Area permit

In the months from September to November, Manaslu Restricted Area Permit charges USD 100 per person for the first week.  If you spend more days than a week, you have to pay extra USD 15 each per day.

But in the months between December and August, Manaslu Restricted Area Permit charges USD 75 each for the first week. While you pay extra USD 10 each per day beyond the first week.

  • Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP) Permit

The cost of Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP) Permit is same Nevertheless of months and the number of days.

It costs,

NPR 100 per person for the Nepali citizens

NPR 1,000 per person for the people of SAARC Countries

USD 27 or NPR 3,000 per person for other nationals

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Permit

As MCAP, ACAP also costs the same regardless the months, number of days and seasons.

They charge,

NPR 100 per person for the Nepali citizens

NPR 1,000 per person for the people of SAARC Countries

USD 27 or NPR 3,000 per person for other nationals

  • Tsum Valley Restricted Permit (If you wish to trek towards the Tsum Valley)

In the months from September to November, Tsum Valley Restricted Permit expenses USD 40 per person for the first week.  If you spend more days than a week, you have to pay extra USD 7 each per day.

However, in the months between December and August, Manaslu Restricted Area Permit charges USD 30 each for the first week. While you pay extra USD 7 each per day beyond the first week.

Note: –

  • Children below 10 years do not have to pay an entrance fee but you need to process all the permit making procedure and succumb a needed document.
  • You cannot trek alone in this area. Hence you need to trek in a group of two convoyed by a registered guide and a local operator.
  • TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card is not necessary if you have the restricted area permit. However, if you want to visit adjacent spaces such as Jomsom, Mustang, Pokhara, you need it.
  • Excursionists need Individual Entry permits to enter Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) and Manaslu Conservation Area (MCA)
  • It takes 2 to 3 hours to get ready your permit if you submit all the needed documents.
