We believe emergency medical coverage is very essential for any traveler traveling to Nepal. Travel insurance exists to ensure that trekkers/travelers get medical help if things go wrong. For our treks and trekking peak expeditions in Nepal, you are highly recommended to get yourself insurance that takes account of trekking to 5000–6000m with helicopter evacuation. Lastly, make sure that you compare your insurance plans with others to get the right policy for you.

Yes! A 25 % deposit of the full payment is required to book the respective trip package. We have very simple cancellation policy in case of your trip cancelled.
The full payment due is after your arrival in Kathmandu and before the commencement of the particular trip package that was booked by the client. And if you deposit your full payment two month prior to your arrival we will give you the surprise gift upon your arrival at Hotel.

No, you don’t have to book anything else yourself because we provide a fully guided tour packages to all of our clients. From the airport pick up to your hotel rooms for your stay, all are inclusive to our trip packages, so, even during the entire trip, our guide will accommodate you entirely without the need to book anything yourself.

Cancellation policies are defined as the circumstances in which the “Host Company” will return (or in some cases doesn’t return) the money to their guest when the booked trip package is cancelled. Generally these policies tend to protect the “Host Company” in the event of unpredicted and unanticipated cancellations of a particular trip package. It is expected for our clients to keep in mind that each tour package available through Himalayan Trekking Alliance has a cancellation policy, and we try to do our best when you choose to cancel a tour package booked by or on your behalf.

• $50 USD per person will be deducted and refund up until 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival.
• $75 USD per person will be deducted and refund up until 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival.
• $100 USD per person will be deducted and refund up until 6 days prior to your scheduled arrival.
• And if there is any domestic flight has booked for the trip 25% of the total flight cost will be deducted too.

As we asked for a 25% advance to confirm your trip, this amount will not be refunded if you don’t notify us about your cancellation or any re-scheduled date within five days before your scheduled arrival. However, if you provide us with your re-scheduled dates, we will keep your advance for up to one year from your scheduled arrival and apply it to the cost of your rescheduled trip.  We may ask for an additional advance amount if the overall cost of the trip increases.

To apply for Nepal’s entry Visa, you can submit an application for a visa directly on the official website of the Department of Immigration in Nepal before traveling to Nepal. You can also acquire and obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.  You can also obtain an entry visa at the following border points of entry in Nepal if you traveling overland:

• Kakarvitta, Jhapa District (Eastern Nepal)
• Birgunj, Parsa District (Central Nepal)
• Kodari, Sindhupalchowk District (Northern Border–for group tourists only)
• Belahia, Bhairahawa (Rupandehi District, Western Nepal)
• Jamunaha, Nepalgunj (Banke District, Mid-Western Nepal)
• Mohana, Dhangadhi (Kailali District, Far Western Nepal)
• Gadda Chauki, Mahendranagar (Kanchanpur District, Far Western Nepal)

Our trekking packages are all inclusive in the basic standards, but we suggest each of you carry Nepalese currency of about Rs 40,000/- to Rs 50,000 (about $400 to $500) for extra expenses for the trip. These includes:

• A down jacket rental ($1.5 per day) and sleeping bag rental ($1.5 per day).
• Three meals a day are included, but you have to pay yourself if you want to have extra food and snacks, hot and cold drinks, chocolate bars, bakery items, etc.
• Tip are generally expected in the tourism industry in Nepal so we suggest you kindly tip the crew. The standard tip is at least $100 per crew for about 2 weeks trip or $15 per days for Guide and $10 per day for porter.
• Buying mineral water in the mountains will cost $2 to $4 per bottle or you can buy water purification tablets in Kathmandu for about $5 and put them in water that we can get from the teahouses.
• Additional costs not included while trekking includes hot shower cost ($3 to $5), battery charging ($3 to $7), Wi-Fi cost ($3 to $5 per hour), etc.
• Extra hotel night in Kathmandu due to health issue, flight cancellation, weather conditions or an early return from the trip for any reason cost ($50 per night)

For your safety, this is the suggested trekking gear list for any type of trekking in Nepal. Either you bring most of your trekking gear with you or you can buy all of the following gear in Thamel, Kathmandu from one of the many shops open from 10am to 8pm.

• Sleeping bag and down jacket rated for about minus 15 degrees
• Waterproof hiking boots
• Light sandals or plimsolls to wear in the lodges
• Towel, shampoo and toiletries
• Trekking pole and head-torch
• Camel-bag or water bottle
• Iodine water purification tablets or sterilizer pen
• Few large plastic bags. One for smelly clothes & one to keep things dry
• Wind breaker jacket and fleece coat
• Warm woolen beanie, sun hat, socks (a few pairs)
• Long and short trekking pants (a few pairs)
• A pair of thin thermal under trouser
• A few t-shirts (quick dry), gloves, sun glass and sun cream
• Duffer bag (a porter will carry your gear)
• Day bag (carry yourself with all of your valuable belongings)  size: 40L

Note: Sleeping bag and down-jacket can be rented in Kathmandu.
